SCHILLER PARK, Ill., Oct. 15, 2009 – Technology has shown to be a valuable tool in engaging and motivating exercisers, so it’s no surprise that a year after being introduced, the Virtual Trainer Web Site (www.virtualtrainer.lifefitness.com), now boasts over 14,000 users. With the Web site still gaining in popularity, Life Fitness has engaged end-users, facility owners and managers worldwide, to provide suggestions and feedback on how the company could enhance the site.
The results from the company’s outreach showed that exercisers were looking for a more efficient way to create, upload and track workouts. After months of redesign, the new and improved Virtual Trainer Web Site offers a more intuitive experience for users, encouraging exercise progression and providing motivation.
The Virtual Trainer Web Site allows exercisers to create personalized workouts for use anywhere, anytime on Life Fitness Elevation Series or Platinum Club Series products. Users can also track and organize their workout results, making it simple to view their progress from the Internet. The state-of-the-art tool also provides personal trainers with the ability to create personalized workouts for their clients virally.
The latest upgrades include a newly designed home page that allows exercisers to navigate through the site faster and more efficiently. Now, in addition to creating their own workouts, exercisers can also download the most popular workouts based on user favorites, such as “Fat Burn†or “Random,†in just one step. They can also track their results and progress in detail, easily navigating and viewing results from one week, to one year with a simple click of the mouse.
Web site users can also invite their friends and family to be their “buddiesâ€. Exercisers provide the email address of the person with whom they would like to be “buddies.†An email is then sent directly to that person with a request notification. Once the other user accepts the invite, the “buddies†will then be able to create and share workout programs with each other. Members also have the capability to manage their “buddies†list. Additionally, personal trainers can use the site to provide their clients with customized programming.
Life Fitness Virtual Trainer Web Site is supported by the following operating systems: Windows 98 SE, 2000, XP, ME and Vista as well as Mac OS X tiger and Linux.
Further enhancements to the Web site will be available next year. Registration and access to the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer Web Site is free for facilities, trainers and exercisers. Facilities can also download free console software upgrades from the facility registration site.
