Our March 5th 2015 “Throw Back Thursday” was the start of something very special for us at Werner Paddles. For those that guessed Dane Jackson, you were correct and as we promised there was more to the story. After a succesful test misson while training in Uganda, it is our pleasure to announce that Dane along with his Dad, sister and brother in law are joining the Werner Paddle’s family. Today we welcome 4 of the world’s most talented boaters, Emily Jackson, Nick Troutman, Eric Jackson and Dane to strengthen an already world class Team.

(#TBT to 1998, for all your New Englanders you will be stoked to know this was at the beach at T-Ville. Photo by now Werner Paddles SE rep, Megan Kieninger. Crazy to see where we ended up today.)

Certainly this group needs no introduction, nor we need to go for pages listing their accomplishments, so let’s see what they think of this great new partnership.

Emily summed it up for the family, and from her standpoint as Jackson Kayaks white water Team manager.

“As a Jackson there is a few things we really appreciate-products made in the US, craftsmanship, and the family atmosphere. We are so excited to find three core values of ours in one awesome brand- Werner Paddles. Now we are ready to kick off our 2015 season and are fired up to do so- with Werner in hand! “

“Werner has always been known for their top quality, and strong and sturdy paddles. As a kayaker that puts in 300+ days on the water a year I want to know I can trust my equipment and that it will last, with this I am proud to announce my switch to using Werner Paddles. Paddle hard!”

“Werner is an icon in the eorld of paddles and yet has remained a family businesses. I feel the Jackson family and Werner are a perfect match as we both believe in Making our products locally, focusing on innovation and quality, and taking care of our customers, staff, and team. I am loving my Double Diamond and excited to have the best product available today.

Marketing manager at Werner Paddles, Danny Mongno, is beside himself with excitement. “I was paddling with Megan that day in 1998 when she took that photo, I’m pretty sure Dane was better than both of us already. As my role in the paddle sports industry grew I followed the Jackson’s closely, I was moved that day seeing a family that travelled together, played together. Over the years I’ve watched them make a lot of friends in our great community, extending their family feel to others. You can go on and on about how talented they are, what an impressive company they have built with Jackson Kayaks, but for me this is the perfect fit because of who they are as much as what they do on the water. This is going to be fun.”

Here are some of the very first photos from Uganda. We know there will be lots more to come, so stay tuned!

In 2015 Werner Paddles celebrates 50 Years of handcrafting paddles and in no way we could have made it to this amazing milestone without the help of our Team. We welcome the Nick and the Jackson’s as they join and help us look toward the future. We also want to thank the rest of the crew.
