After a brief hiatus from the Werner Paddle’s whitewater line-up, the small size play boat paddle the Twist is making a comeback.

With the children of the whitewater paddler generation who enjoyed the biggest growth period of the sport (90’s to early 2000’s) now coming of age and finding their way to the river with their parents, there is a rise in youth paddling. With that, a demand for better fitting gear follows. To help support parents who are buying great small sized boats from Jackson Kayak or Liquid Logic, relaunching the Twist, to join the Amigo in the Kids whitewater range, gives parents more options. “An increase in skus as SUP and kayak fishing grew for us made us look closely at all models in the line. At the time of the decision putting the Twist in moth balls made sense, but with the trends we are seeing in youth paddling we are excited to bring it back and the timing is perfect for the summer season.” Explains marketing manager, Danny Mongno. Coupled with their innovative Small Shaft option, the Twist is an overall winner for this category. Now that is not to say that some adult freestyle paddlers and ocean surfers will not be happy to hear the news as well. “As the leader in kayak paddles we want to make sure we continue to outfit paddlers with the widest range of choices in fit options.” The Twist will be available at authorized Werner Paddle dealers worldwide, starting mid-June.
