Wicked Good Copy Shifts Focus, Moves to Desk Over by the Window

Nevada City, CA – Wicked Good Copy & Communications – the outdoor, snowsports, fitness and active lifestyle industries’ (OSFALI) most awesomest copywriters for hire – took a major step last week – they moved.

WGC&C is based in Sierra Commons, a cooperative office space in Nevada City, CA (not Nevada). There’re a bunch of desks at Sierra Commons, including one by the window in the corner.

In a major strategic shift, WGC&C decided that sitting in the corner by the window would be pretty cool. Except in summer when it’ll be hella hot.

What prompted the move? Several key factors:

• It’s quieter than sitting by the front door.

• Unlimited daydreaming potential.

• The soothing, ocean-like sound of freeway traffic.

• Potential for peering into the windows of the National Hotel.

• Ability to hang fancy technical outerwear on the window latch.

Most importantly, the move puts Wicked Good in a position to actually see what goes on outside. Outside – the place where trees grow, not the magazine – is an important part of the OSFALI (outdoor, snowsports, fitness, active lifestyle industry), and the ability to see outside gives WGC&C the opportunity to have its collective finger on the pulse of the OSFALI.

Unless they’re typing. Then the collective finger is on the keyboard.

Given the fact that the window is on the top floor, and that it is of the floor-to-ceiling variety, it cannot be opened. While many would consider this a bummer, Team Wicked Good realizes this security feature prevents coffee cups, laptops and actual humans from plummeting to and splatting on the sidewalk below.

The window, Sierra Commons and WGC&C are located on the top floor of the historic Stonehouse Brewery in Nevada City, CA. While the brewery part sounds hecka cool, truth is that it’s more historic than functioning. The only brew available is at the periodically functioning bar on the first floor. That’s periodically hecka cool.
