Wisconsin Pharmacal Company is “hitting the road” to raise awareness for its new Coleman® insect repellent line, which will officially launch at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City later this month. The Coleman Repellents ‘Road Show’ will kick off Wednesday, July 15th in Jackson, Wis. and will travel across the country to Salt Lake City, arriving on Saturday, July 18th.
During the four-day, cross-country trek, representatives from Wisconsin Pharmacal – along with the company’s official Coleman Repellents mascot – will make frequent stops at cities and towns both big and small. In addition, the company will be spending each night at local campgrounds in a new Coleman camper to connect with families and other outdoor enthusiasts. The entire journey will be captured via video and still photos, all of which will be posted on ColemanRepellents.com, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.
“What better way to celebrate the launch of Coleman Repellents than a cross-country tour to connect with consumers and retailers?,” said Mike Kermendy, vice president of sales and marketing for Wisconsin Pharmacal, the official manufacturer and distributor of Coleman Repellents. “We’re looking forward to hitting the road to share our products with America.”
Throughout the tour, consumers have the opportunity to enter a drawing to win a Coleman Evolution Cobalt camper – an $8,000 value. Preliminary planning takes the ‘Road Show’ through the great states of Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. The team will make frequent stops throughout the tour to hand out product samples and promotional items. Participants can also experience camping made easy with a hands-on tour of the 2009 Coleman Evolution E3 camping trailer that will be serving as the ‘Road Show’ base camp. The Evolution was rated as North America’s most popular “off road” folding camping trailer by Statistical Surveys, Inc. At the base camp there will also be gear giveaways compliments of The Coleman Company, Inc. and photo opportunities with the “Coleman Can” – the official mascot of Coleman Repellents.
“The goal of the Road Show is to engage consumers and build excitement for our new product offering,” Kermendy said. “Equally as important, we want to reach out to retailers and trade audiences in a way that is unique, fun and memorable. By documenting the journey and posting it online, we’re hoping that our friends in the trade come along for the ride – it should be an interesting journey.”
