(March 24, 2008—Carbondale, Colo.) The HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation announces Women’s Adventure Magazine as its National Women’s Media Sponsor. As such, the magazine will help the nonprofit spread awareness of ovarian cancer’s symptoms and call attention to fundraising events by donating advertising space and website promotions to HERA.
“One of HERA’s primary goals is to raise awareness of ovarian cancer, and Women’s Adventure’s readers are the women we’re trying to reach,†explains HERA Foundation founder Sean Patrick. “Obvious symptoms in fit, healthy women are often discounted as overtraining, and then they’re diagnosed too late. This partnership allows HERA to speak directly to those women to educate them about how to take control of their health.â€
Karina Evertsen, associate publisher of the Boulder, Colorado–based magazine adds, “Women’s Adventure is firmly committed to improving women’s knowledge about important health issues like ovarian cancer,†she says. “This partnership brings value to our readers, and by helping HERA fund research for an early detection method, it enables our magazine to help save the lives of women around the globe. For us, that’s immeasurable in value.â€
