Woolrich Sponsors The Womens Adventure

Interactive outdoor event hosted by Women’s Adventure magazine invites women to attend the ‘Woolrich Playground’

Woolrich, the Original Outdoor Clothing Company®, today proudly announces its sponsorship of The Women’s Adventure, an outdoor event hosted by Women’s Adventure magazine where women are invited to test gear, try new sports and attend mini-skills clinics, all outside in the “Woolrich Playground” at the Boulder Reservoir in Boulder, Co. on Saturday, September 26, 2009. As part of its sponsorship, Woolrich has also created a “Woolrich Gear Village” where attendees will be given the opportunity to experience apparel from the women’s performance series collection.

Throughout the event, the “Woolrich Gear Village” will provide attendees with a base camp for all their adventures, so they can refuel, hydrate and get back to their favorite outdoor activities. Participating attendees will receive a Woolrich branded Nanolight®, a pair of Woolrich Aloe Vera socks and they will also be entered for a chance to win select apparel or a special edition Woolrich Emotion™ Kayak.

“The Women’s Adventure event provides individuals with an amazing venue to try new activities and learn about outdoor adventure,” said Shelly Neubauer, marketing coordinator for Woolrich. “Outdoor adventure is the inspiration behind our products, so we’re thrilled to be involved in an event that encourages women to stay active in the outdoors.”

The Women’s Adventure event will feature outdoor activities including rock climbing, yoga, orienteering, mountain and road biking, fly-fishing, winter backcountry skills, Nordic skiing, slacklining, stand-up paddling and kayaking. Mini-skills clinics such as sports medicine stretching, bicycle maintenance and sports bra fittings will be held by experts from participating brands including Women’s Wilderness Institute, Cannondale and Moving Comfort®. These activities will be combined with gear testing, food, beer and wine sampling, massages and mini-facials. Participants will receive a goodie bag worth $300 and the event will include more than 50 high-end prizes, some valued at $2,000.

“Our goal is to create an event for women to enjoy the outdoors at any level, that is educational and fun,” said Joanna Laubscher, director of events for Women’s Adventure magazine. “With all of the support and excitement from our sponsors, this is going to be one of Boulder’s best women’s events of the year.”

Scheduled demo and clinic times along with open-access testing allow attendees to choose a day of flexibility or structure. For more information or register for this event, please visit
