Boulder, Colorado- GoLite, the premier manufacturer of lightweight, high- performance and sustainable apparel and equipment, is proud to announce the Stevie Award has been given to Akavit and Sukle Advertising & Design for the re-branding of GoLite’s web site.

Akavit, a leading interactive agency and web technology company, won the Stevie Award in the “Web Site or Blog – Craft & Function” category at The 2010 American Business Awards. The category of “Best E-Commerce Site” was awarded for their work on the GoLite re-branded site.

Akavit worked with Sukle to translate GoLite’s values to the Web by simplifying their site and employing horizontal navigation to reinforce the nature of the trail. Since the launch of the site, there have been more than 354,000 visitors and more than 50 percent were new visitors.

Dana Morton, GoLite’s Director of Marketing stated, “In 2009, GoLite initiated a new overall brand strategy, which included re-branding its digital space. We enlisted the help of Akavit and Sukle Advertising & Design to help us achieve our goals and the proof is pretty evident: since the launch of the site, there has been more than 50% growth in new visitors. That alone deserves a Stevie, but I agree with the judges in that the craft and function of the site is without peer.”

Stevie Awards were presented in over 40 categories. More than 2,700 entries from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.

In winning the Stevie, GoLite’s website beat out other finalists including AngelVision, AT&T, crowdSPRING, John Hancock Funds, Shipwire and Velir Studios.

During his acceptance speech, Rob Davis, Partner at Akavit, said, “At Akavit we strive to help companies of all sizes bring their web programs to the next level. is a great representation of the work we do and the strong advertising agency ties we foster.”
