Yakima Adds to Top of Car Category With Enhanced Fit Options for 2011

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Looking to accommodate more vehicles for adventure driven devotees, Yakima, an innovator in vehicle racks for boats, bikes, camping, winter sports gear, trailers and cargo solutions, today introduced the LandingPad™ 12, RailGrab Medium Claw™ and RailGrab™ Pin Adapter for 2011. All three products will be on display during Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, August 3-6 in Salt Lake City, booth #32101, and will be available at retail at the end of 2010.

“These additional fit options make it easy for more consumers to join the Yakima family,” said Eric Roesinger, category business manager for Yakima. “With the addition of a multi-sport Yakima base system, consumers can accessorize based on their activities enabling them to get to their destination easily.”

The LandingPad 12, providing upgraded fit options for the 2010 Subaru Outback, boosts Yakima’s Control Tower system to a 165 lb. load capacity, the highest available capacity in the category. The LandingPad 12 also increases the crossbar spread to 30”, which allows for a wider variety and capacity of loads including cargo and paddlesports.

Providing an enhanced fit for the Subaru Forester, Ford Edge, Mercedes M-Class and Cadillac SRX, the RailGrab Medium Claw will be included at no additional cost with RailGrab sets starting in October of 2010. The RailGrab Medium Claw will also be sold as a replacement part.

Finally, for Audi customers, the RailGrab Pin Adapter fits the Audi A4 Avant, A6 Avant, Q5 and Q7 (2009 and 2010 models) and will be available to consumers at no charge through Yakima customer service. The RailGrab Pin Adapter will include four upper and four lower custom RailGrab claws.
