Yakima Announced as Official Partner of Tour of Utah

Lake Oswego, Ore. – August 1, 2016 –Yakima Products, Inc., the innovation leader in vehicle racks and cargo solutions, has been named the official vehicle rack partner for the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, the seven-day men’s professional cycling stage race. The partnership kicks off with the 2016 race, which takes place across Utah from August 1 through 7. Yakima is providing the base racks and bicycle mounts for the Tour of Utah race support vehicles.

“Yakima is a world-class brand and a valuable partner for Tour of Utah,” said Jenn Andrs, Executive Director of the Tour of Utah. “Our week-long stage race will traverse 705 miles across Utah’s demanding terrain, with over 50,000 feet of climbing. We need robust racks that are completely dependable, plus let the teams take off and put bikes on team vehicles in seconds. Yakima delivers all of that with ease, and we’re pleased to launch this multi-year partnership.”

As the official rack partner, Yakima will equip approximately 48 support vehicles with its new StreamLine base racks, and FrontLoader, ForkLift and WheelHouse rooftop bike mounts. The best-selling hitch rack, the HoldUp, will be featured on a select group of vehicles. Each vehicle will carry up to five bikes. Yakima will also have a presence at the Harmons Healthy Living Expo, located near the finish line, at many of the stages.

Sixteen of the world’s top professional cycling teams will participate in this heart-pounding journey across Utah, including UCI WorldTeams BMC Racing Team, Cannondale-Daprac Pro Cycling, Iam Cycling and Trek-Segafredo. The seven-day stage race will travel 705 miles, from Zion Canyon Village to Park City.
