BEAVERTON, Ore. – Reinforcing its commitment to provide consumers with more choices, streamlined designs and a variety of price points, Yakima, an innovator in vehicle racks for boats, bikes, camping, winter sports gear, trailers and cargo solutions, today unveiled three new options for the rear of car category. New products for 2011 include the KingJoeâ„¢ Pro, the SuperJoeâ„¢ Pro, and the HighLiteâ„¢, one of the lightest hitches in today’s market place. All products will be on display during Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, August 3-6 in Salt Lake City, booth #32101, and will be available at retail beginning early 2011.

“Yakima’s 2011 rear of car product line includes more features and price options enabling devotees, recreational cyclist and families to transport their bicycles without hassle,” said John Hoppes, category business manager for Yakima. “Design enhancements ensure easy on and off loading and a stable ride holding bikes firmly in place. As consumers today look for low-cost recreation options close to home, the KingJoe Pro, SuperJoe Pro and HighLite are excellent options.”

The KingJoe Pro, available in two or three bike options, is engineered for the rider looking for upscale features, uncompromised style and performance. Upgraded features include foldable arms, bomber steel construction, an easier to use QuickTriggerâ„¢ hub system, best-in-class vehicle protection, and new StableCradlesâ„¢ to keep bikes secured. The KingJoe Pro is especially suited for sedans, hatchbacks and SUV’s and, staying true to Yakima spirit, is equipped with a bottle opener.

The SuperJoe Pro, in a red finish is also available in two or three bike options. The enhanced features include a narrow arm design, fitting a variety of bike frames, the QuickTrigger hub system, StableCradles and Yakima’s convenient bottle openers. It has glass hatch hooks, a safety strap and padded feet to add extra protection to the car’s finish.

The HighLite, available in white or silver with two and three bike options, is one of the lightest hitch bike carriers in the market place at 19 lbs. The lightweight aluminum construction makes it easy to lift while attaching or removing from the vehicle. Other features include anti-sway cradles, an anti-wobble tongue that keeps bikes steady while en route; and two integrated bottle openers. Lastly, the LockDown security cable and HitchLock combo provide enhanced security.
