Yakima, an innovator in vehicle racks for boats, bikes, camping, winter sports gear and cargo solutions, has been recognized by Subaru of America with its 2008 Subaru “Supplier Excellence Award,” for overall excellence in product development, marketing, quality, sourcing, supply, transportation, warranty and accounting. Yakima received the award earlier this month at Subaru of America’s Supplier Awards in New Jersey.
Yakima, a repeat “Supplier Excellence Award” winner, has partnered with Subaru since 1989. Currently, Yakima provides multi-sport base systems, bike, cargo, kayak and ski racks for Subaru of America. In addition, for the past 4 years, Subaru of America has stepped up as the presenting sponsor of Yakima’s grassroots marketing program, the Road Warrior Tour, by outfitting these regional reps with Subaru Tribecas, allowing the companies to collaborate on cycling, paddling and skiing events across the nation.
“We have developed a strong, multi-faceted alliance that bodes well for a strong future together,” said Ron Ten Berge, vice president of sales and marketing for Yakima. “Yakima is well known for delivering superior products and services to the automotive industry, where Subaru ranks extremely high for its customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. Together, Subaru and Yakima can provide its consumers with quality vehicles and accessories to hit the road safe and in style to get to their outdoor destination of choice.”
