Woodstock, VT (March 14, 2014) – Yonder, an outdoor app that connects outdoor enthusiasts through shared experiences, is excited to officially announce a partnership with polar explorer Eric Larsen. Larsen, an avid Yonderer, will share his adventures on the app during his current expedition, The Last North Expedition. Since the launch of Yonder in 2013, it’s mission has been to foster a community of outdoor enthusiasts and inspire people to discover the outdoors. iPhone users who download the free app will be able to follow along with Larsen’s adventures at @ELexplore.
Larsen and expedition partner, Ryan Waters, have just begun their traverse of the Arctic Ocean from Northern Ellesmere Island to the geographic North Pole. Their aim is to complete this 500-mile journey in less than 49 days, breaking the current unsupported expedition speed record set by a Norwegian team in 2006. “Yonder exemplifies everything that I believe in, it’s the natural place to share and interact with a community that believes in the importance of getting outside,” says Larsen.
Created for everyone from backyard adventurers to polar explorers, Yonder connects you to the people, places and experiences that inspire. Larsen has spent the past 15 years of his life traveling in some of the most remote and beautiful places on earth. His partnership with Yonder will provide a focused social media platform to share his experiences. Larsen’s Yonder posts will create a global audience to interact and engage with his daily photos and will educate his followers on several climate-related issues and charities that he will feature along the route.
