Zamberlanâ„¢ Unveils New Styles for Vicenza, Ascent and Alpine Collections
at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market
New boot styles considered must have gear for all terrains â€“ tradition meets innovation
with the new Spring 2009 line
Salt Lake City, UT (August 8, 2008) – Zamberlanâ„¢, the leading producer of world class outdoor boots, unveils new styles, colors and sole packages, for the Vicenza, Ascent, and Alpine Collections at the 2008 Outdoor Retail Summer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah (Booth #32275). The newest styles will be available in spring 2009 through specialty outdoor retailers as well as through www.zamberlanstore.com.
According to the Outdoor Industry Association’s April 2008 report, sales grew across all outdoor retail channels (Chain, Specialty and Internet) and across all four major product categories (Equipment, Equipment Accessories, Footwear and Apparel) compared to April 2007. Zamberlan’s â„¢ new 2009 spring line provides a wide variety of boots and low to mid-cut shoe choices for outdoor activities, whether it’s extended backpacking trips, weekend hikes or an everyday adventure. Starting in Spring 2009, The Vicenza Collection will feature two new backpacking boots; the Ascent Collection will offer a new mid-cut style and colors for men and women; the Alpine Collection adds a new sole package for serious climbers with the utmost protection from the elements; and the Explore Collection includes trail shoes for the more cost conscious outdoor adventurer, comprised of a lighter weight leather synthetic material for under $175; and the Synergy Collection will include new footwear for trail walking and travel. These new lines, available at retail in spring 2009, will be showcased at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City.

The Vicenza Collection
The Zamberlanâ„¢ Vicenza Collection of full leather Italian-made boots are designed for anyone participating in mountain sport activities or working outdoors who require tough protection that is both supportive and comfortable. A new backpacking boot style with the StarTrek Zamberlanâ„¢ â€“ Vibram sole â€“ the 760 STEEPâ€“ is available in Grey/Amaranto and Anthracite/Taupe for men and Sand/Kariboe for women. MSRP: $255.00. The 992 PANTHER is a non-Gore-Tex boot handcrafted in a full-grain leather upper with leather/cambrelle lining. It is available in both black and dark brown. MSRP: $220.00.
The Ascent Collection
The Ascent Collection consists of low and mid-cut approach shoes for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hiking, lightweight backpacking and weekend getaways to the mountains. The features include GORE-TEXÂ® liners, durable split-leather Uppers and Zamberlanâ„¢ A.M.S. outsoles that provide rigidity and torsional support. The 157 RICA GT mid-cut will replace last season’s JAVA GT and will come in Olive/Truffle and Caffe/Nut for men and Pastel/Ciment for women. MSRP: $145.00. The company is continuing with the 154 RICA GT and adding two new colors: Olive/Birch for men and Ciment/Crocus for women. MSRP: $130.00. A new color addition to the 156 VENTURE GT- Musk/Catfish will also be previewed at the show.
The Alpine Collection
Zamberlan’s â„¢ Alpine Collection targets experienced people who are looking for reliable and high performing boots. These boots have greater insulation and ultimate protection from the elements â€“ new styles include the 8000 EVEREST, (MSRP: $800.00) and 4000 EIGER, (MSRP: $550.00) models used by high elevation expeditionists and professionals. A new version of the EXPERT PRO (MSRP: $400.00), EXPERT PLUS (MSRP: $330.00) and the PELMO GT (MSRP: $300.00) feature premium Italian Nubuk and Perwanger leather Uppers. The EIGER and EXPERT PRO GT models both tout the new (PCS) professional crampon system sole package.

The Explore Collection consists of lightweight boots for outdoor enthusiasts looking for high quality at affordable prices. Designed for light backpacking, hiking and weekend getaways to the mountains, these boots feature GORE-TEXÂ® liners, durable split-leather Uppers and VIBRAMÂ® outsoles that provide rigidity and torsional support. Best of all, these boots are made in Italy at price points starting at $180. New styles include the ALTAI and ZEPHIR (MSRP: $150.00) â€“ both in men’s sizes. This collection is made with a lighter weight leather synthetic material (split leathers and nylon to reduce weight and bulk).
The Synergy Collection
This collection consists of comfortable footwear for trail walking and travel designed with a substantial sole package and Gore-Tex membranes. New styles include the 37 FLORENCE GT (MSRP: $125.00) in Earth for men and Dove for women. New to the collection in 2009 are the 45 FRISCO (MSRP: $100.00) sport sandal and 40 FREEWAY GT (MSRP: $120.00) urban walker.
