ZipFit, LLC Ushers In a New Era

Aspen, Colo (Nov. 23, 2020) – ZipFit, the ultimate ski boot liner developed by legendary ski boot aficionado, Sven Coomer, is now under new leadership and will offer online sales for four models of liners.

Founded in 1989, ZipFit manufactures boot liners with 30 years of research and development backing the design. Founder and product designer Sven Coomer gained his expertise from designing industry-defining ski boots for Nordica, Atomic, and what is now Full Tilt. Today he focuses on creating the perfect ski boot liner using premium materials including self-molding cork composite, leather, neoprene, and wool insulation. Unlike foam that punches out and breaks down, ZipFit cork composite is highly customizable and retains its shape for hundreds of uses.

Chris Dominick will assume the role of Managing Director and head up North American Sales for ZipFit. “I have been skiing in ZipFits for over ten years and have been intrigued by the company’s potential for growth. Sven and Mary are brilliant, but the brand is a big lift for them. I am thrilled to bring the legacy of ZipFit into the 21st century and provide space for Sven to continue innovating so we can deliver best-in-class ski boot liners,” says Chris. Chris has 5 years of experience in business development with Wise Bar, a superfood bar he and his brother developed. Additionally, he keeps the lineage and knowledge of ZipFit close to home here in Aspen, CO.

Thomas May joins ZipFit as the Director of Operations and International Sales. “I have skied in ZipFit liners for years and reached out to Sven and Mary because I could not find a way to easily get a pair for my wife here in Europe, so I proposed to help them with that,” says May. Thomas May will help to establish an online sales presence for ZipFit and a streamlined distributor and dealer experience. Thomas brings fluency of the European and South American markets to the team, as he was born in the US, lived in Chile, and is now settled with his family in Northern Italy.

Sven Coomer will remain as President and Chief Designer of ZipFit. His 55 years of knowledge and contributions to the evolution of ski boot design is invaluable. From overhauling the design of the plastic ski boot, inventing the power strap, and playing a

critical role in the development of custom insoles, Sven’s signature is synonymous with the link between foot and ski. For the last decade, he and his wife Mary Dominick Coomer have been operating ZipFit out of their home in Aspen. Sven will continue his quest to craft the perfect ski boot liner with his manufacturing partner in Italy.
