The 19th annual ispo BrandNew product winners include an array of interesting companies from around the world, including eco clothing, fitness design innovation, bike technology, ski clothing for disabled, running shoes and more.

Always a fascinating look into small, entrepreneurial, new companies, the BrandNew awards require companies to be new on the market — less than four years. If selected as a winner or finalist, companies receive space at the show to exhibit their wares. Winners also receive free and discounted marketing services, and global press releases spread the name of their company and products. Many distributors and others cruise the BrandNew area at the ispo show to find eye-opening products and designs, including SNEWS.

The overall winner was a running shoe with a new cushioning system by a new company called ON Sports from Switzerland. The system was developed in cooperation with Swiss triathlete Oliver Berhard (photo to right). www.on-running.com

Other winners were:

>> Uty (France) has developed a line of winter sports apparel to accommodate the varying needs of athletes with different disabilities, while still maintaining high function (photo to left). www.utyltd.com

>> Boo Bicycles (USA), by cyclist Nick Frey, are made of bamboo. The product, designed for urban transport, was a part of his senior project at Princeton University. www.boobicycles.com

>> Hock Design (Germany) has a new line of fitness equipment and accessories, including pushup bars and dumbbells, that are sleek and clean and made of polished walnut and stainless steel (photo below right). www.hockdesign.de

>> Moticon (Germany) unveiled a device to help ski instructors of groups monitor all their students’ techniques at the same time with mobile technology. www.moticon.de
