Health & Fitness Business ’09: SNEWS Fitness Forum/State of the Industry recording to download

At the 2009 Health & Fitness Business Show, SNEWS hosted its one-hour annual Fitness Forum, this year combining a State of the Industry presentation and a panel discussion.

In that presentation, SNEWS editor in chief Therese Iknoian discussed trends and findings from SNEWS Retailer Surveys and eFitBiz reports over the last seven years as well as other forecasts and trends. That was followed by a discussion and Q-and-A session with retail experts Ron Hornbaker and Sandy Stein. The discussion, titled “Survive and Thrive,” touched on a variety of issues, including staff training, why or if to carry a variety of goods other than equipment, rebuilding consumer confidence in fitness stores, increasing store inventory smartly, and how to create more value for your business.
