The fitness industry has been invading Las Vegas for years. Last year’s Health & Fitness Business Expo took over the Sands, but this September the trade show will bring its buff bodies and brand-new equipment to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
The show recently opened registration for attendees. Registration is free to retailers who sign up before August 14. Between August 15 and September 17 registration costs $25, and after September 17 it costs $50.
Show organizers are excited about the new location, they said.
“We’re looking forward to a fresh new layout and experience for retailers and exhibitors,” said Justin Gottlieb, HFB spokesperson. The new location means that Interbike and HFB will be more separated in the convention center than they have been in the past few years, when the shows spilled into one another.
Yet Gottlieb said that off the show floor, attendees and exhibitors alike will feel more connected in the new location at the south end of the strip closer to the airport.
“I think all attendees — retailers, exhibitors, media, etc. — will tend to do more things in and around that area, creating a stronger sense of community that was lacking in previous years,” Gottlieb said.
Gottlieb said he feels attendees will continue to be able to enjoy both shows as they have in the past few years, despite the differentiation.
“We were very successful in driving traffic to the lower level of the Sands Convention Center last year, and plan to employ the same tactics to help drive visibility to HFB,” Gottlieb said. “Our goal is to ensure that the experience only gets better for all attendees.”
The Health and Fitness Business Expo partnered with Travel Planners to block off rooms at low rates at the Mandalay Bay and surrounding hotels. For more information on booking hotels, click here.
What should be a top priority for all attendees? The educational programming the shows will offer. Though some are bicycle-industry specific, most aren’t, Gottlieb said. Rather, they teach practices that can be applied to any retail business.
Gottlieb said organizers would like to plan new HFB-specific events and promotional opportunities for the upcoming shows. The show will be on Sept. 18 and 19 in Las Vegas. For more information visit the HFB website.
“The entire HFB team is most looking forward to creating a productive and enjoyable experience for retailers and exhibitors at our new home,” Gottlieb said, “and making the 2013 edition of HFB the best to date.”
