/ Santa Monica, Calif. / Ryan Dubach, CEO Coreban North America / Founded 2004

Ryan Dubach on Coreban Stand-Up Paddle Boards: “Coreban has pursued perfection from the first day of operations. Coreban stakes its name on quality and innovation. From being the inventors of the in deck handle to perfecting it with the new Core Grip and now releasing an adventure — touring range of boards in conjunction with Bear Grylls, Coreban is a powerhouse in the SUP industry.”

Tell us about your brands and products:

Coreban has been making a full range of surf SUP, race and touring paddleboards for the last seven years. The attention to detail and time spent in perfecting each board produced is a testament to our commitment to quality. Our customers are proud to have a Coreban under their feet and we are proud to have them in our family of paddlers. The Coreban brand spans the globe. With 30 different countries and counting distributing the Coreban brand we are one of the largest SUP companies in the world. The much anticipated launch of the Coreban Bear Grylls boards came at [Outdoor Retailer]. We used the show to release this amazing product and begin the next chapter in the Coreban legacy. These boards are unlike anything the SUP industry has seen to date and will literally re-write the book on the possibilities of where this industry can go.”

What were you, as the founder of the company, doing before this?

Working on an executive team that operated a network of motorcycle dealerships.

Where did your inspiration come from?

My love for the water and outdoor industry.

What’s the one best feature of your product?

So many different features. The quality construction in every product is what we have built our reputation on. But the BG boards have a flip up back rest built into the deck to convert it to a kayak … that’s pretty awesome.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Making enough product to supply the demand.

Why did you exhibit at Outdoor Retailer?

The launch of the BG product and the new line of flat water touring boards caters to many of the outdoor specialty retailers that will be interested in this product.

Who do you look up to in the industry?

Burton, Channel Islands and Patagonia.

Who do you want to compete against in the industry?

Naish and Starboard.
