Tim Dozier on Tuff Truck Bag: “The Tuff Truck Bag is the only waterproof cargo bag made specifically to fit the back of a pick-up truck. It is collapsible so the bag can be removed and easily stored when not in use. Setup time is under five minutes and the bag holds nearly 26 cubic feet of cargo storage.”

Tell us about your brands and products:

Currently we only offer the Tuff Truck Bag in Tan and Black color options, but are working on a smaller tote bag option.

What were you, as the founder of the company, doing before this?

The company is my dad, who is a doctor, myself, who is an art director for an ad agency, and my brother. My self and my dad still work in our professions, but my brother works for Tuff Truck Bag and it’s his first job out of college.

Where did your inspiration come from?

Travel during the summer in south Alabama – rains every afternoon and none of us like truck covers because they seem to defeat the purpose of owning a truck.

What’s the one best feature of your product?

Waterproof, and non-permanent so it still allows you use your truck bed.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Product design, we really got everything right and perfect about in 2011.

Why did you exhibit at Outdoor Retailer?

Because we feel like we have our product perfect and are ready to gain recognition.

Who do you look up to in the industry?

As a brand, probably Patagonia. Started as a passion and grew from the ideas of small business owner who loved the outdoors.

Who do you want to compete against in the industry?

Possibly Yakima or Rolo, if we ever got that big. No one really offers a product like we have though.
