The first deadline (Nov. 30, 2012) is fast approaching to get your new products for Outdoor Retailer Winter Market (Jan. 22-26, 2013) submitted for consideration of free coverage in the official newspaper covering the event — O.R.D. powered by SNEWS.
The O.R. Daily strives to represent every company in our four issues printed each day of the trade show, but that requires your help in following the submission guidelines and deadlines below. Be sure to read through — there are new web forms to submit items for “New Product Gallery” and “Events.”
New Product Gallery
The O.R. Daily New Product Gallery gives your brand the opportunity to submit new products debuting at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2013. Submit only NEW products — likely those slated to hit retail in fall/winter 2013/2014 — to be considered for free publication.
SNEWS has a web form for exhibitors to submit the products, which we helps simplify the process. You must fill out the form completely by Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 for the submission to go through. Click here to access the New Product Gallery web form.
You are welcome and encouraged to submit multiple products to this section, but keep in mind that each brand likely will receive only one product placement in the New Product Gallery to ensure fair and balanced coverage. Please create a separate entry for each new product submitted.
We may also use these submissions to include in any product trend coverage throughout the O.R. Daily. This is your chance to tell us what you will have new at the show. Even if we have already contacted you for other O.R. Daily articles, submit products here for additional coverage consideration.
In your 50-word description, please provide our readers with product facts, features and function, NOT gushing, colorful descriptors filled with superlatives. The form also requires a HIGH-RESOLUTION photo of each product — this usually means the photo is greater than 5 inches wide or tall at 300 dpi. Please work with your photography department to ensure that the photo is hi-res. Also please make sure that the photo’s file name does NOT include any spaces and/or symbols.

*If you are not donating 100% of the proceeds (i.e., not just the profits) you will not be included in this section. Note that show guidelines stipulate that you are not permitted to sell anything at Outdoor Retailer unless all the money goes to a legitimate 501(c)3 nonprofit company.

New Exhibitors – welcome to Outdoor Retailer
New exhibitors have no reason to be shy at Outdoor Retailer this winter. Let SNEWS introduce you to the crowd.
If you’re an owner or CEO of a company that will be a new exhibitor at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, we want to give you the opportunity for free coverage and exposure in O.R. Daily. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 requesting a submission form that you’ll need to fill out completely to be considered for coverage.
The sooner you get your Outdoor Retailer-related press releases to our editors the better. We’re always looking for newsworthy information about your company’s trends, marketing strategies, sponsorships, advocacy efforts, promotional campaigns and overall product line launches. BUT … any news we consider for O.R. Daily must be specifically relevant to the show — something at the show, being unveiled at the show, announced at the show, etc.

You must be an official Outdoor Retailer exhibitor and meet the above deadlines to qualify for consideration for free coverage. If you miss the deadlines, or are not an official exhibitor, you are still welcome to advertise in the O.R. Daily provided there is space available.
Advertise with O.R. Daily — The ONLY place you can guarantee your product will be covered
We will always treat every exhibitor with an equal amount of attention — O.R. Daily advertiser or not, SNEWS subscriber or not, large company or small, newbie or long-timer — when determining what products or companies we choose to feature in O.R. Daily. We would love it if we had sufficient pages to promise that every company who submits products and news to be featured; however, there are simply too many product submission requests and too little space — all from very good companies pitching very good products.
The only way to absolutely guarantee that your company will appear in the O.R. Daily for Winter Market 2013 is to reserve advertising with our sales team. To get more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org and Elizabeth Averbeck, our sales and marketing director, will be happy to take care of you. Ad reservations for the O.R. Daily close on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, so earlier contact is best. And don’t forget to advertise in the O.R. Planning Guide, which goes out to readers several weeks before the show, previewing some of Winter Market’s upcoming products and trends. Advertise in the Planning Guide by Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 and receive a discount for any O.R. Daily advertising.

Outdoor Retailer is the time your brand, store or agency releases a plethora of press material pertinent to those who work in the outdoor industry. Whether it’s news about a product launch, company expansion or new employees, our editors strive to cover as much of these items as we can in the O.R. Daily and SNEWS, but we can’t always get to everything.
